July 31, 2006 – K.’s recent works “Altocumulous” and “Celestial Navigation” will be presented in the upcoming Best of Missouri Hands sponsored exhibition “A Celebration of Excellence” at  the Mildred M. Cox Gallery at William Woods University in Fulton, MO.  The exhibit runs from August 14th to September 23rd.

 

June 25, 2006 – Lark Books’ publication 500 Baskets has been published.  It is a beautiful 8x8 coffee table paperback, and features two of K.’s pieces alongside the work of weaving luminaries such as Ed Rossbach, Gyongy Laky, and Mary Giles.

 

June 20, 2006 – K. recently returned from a visit to the Czech Republic, where she spent an afternoon in Brno with the charming and talented wire artist Blanka Sperkova.   They toured Spilberk Castle, where Blanka’s work was on display, and later visited the opening of a new gallery. 

 

In Prague, K. had the pleasure of meeting noted sculptor David Cerny, the “enfante terrible” of the Prague art scene.  David graciously took time from his busy schedule to give her a sneak preview of a couple of his upcoming projects.

 

May 25 – K.’s work “Jasper” was selected for inclusion in the National Basketry Organization’s International Juried Exhibition at The Dairy Barn in Athens OH.  The exhibit runs from May 27th through September 4th.

 

March 10, 2006 – Images of two works by K. Chrysalis were recently selected for inclusion in the upcoming Lark Books publication 500 Baskets.  The pieces selected for inclusion are “Electra,” completed in 2003, and “Jasper,” completed in 2005.  The book is juried by Jan Peters and edited by Susan Mowery Kieffer, and is to be published in May of 2006.
